Mission

The mission of the Creative Outreach Subcommittee is to prepare outreach efforts to involve the creative community and educate them on best practices for print production processes. The Creative Outreach Subcommittee will try to ‘translate’ technologically sophisticated, challenging and complicated documents into simpler and more easily understandable language.

Current Activites

Currently, the Creative Outreach Subcommittee is working on the updating and upgrading of the GWG webpage content, preparation of the GWG iconography and identification and creation of simplefied relevant documents on best practices for print production processes.

All suggestions, recommendations, opinions and thoughts are more than welcome.

 

The Chair of the Creative Outreach Subcommittee is Raša Urbas

Raša is an associate professor at the University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Natural Sciences and Engineering, Department of Textiles, Graphic Arts and Design (Slovenia). With 20 years of experience in research and teaching in the field of graphic arts and technology, she specializes in graphic prepress and printing, business information systems and applications, as well as microscopy and spectroscopy analysis techniques. Her professional career began with her doctoral thesis in the field of textile technology, which she later combined with her knowledge of graphic arts and technology in various professional, research and socially useful projects, publications and patents. She enjoys teaching and mentoring students, both in Slovenia and abroad.

Raša is a relatively new member of the Ghent Workgroup where she serves as a chair of the Creative Outreach SubCommittee and co-chair of the Compliancy Testing SubCommittee. She is also a member of Graphic Technology SubCommittee at Slovenian Institute for standardization and a CEEPUS CII-HR-0108 Concurrent Product and Technology Development and CII-SI-0719 A.L.I.C.E. network coordinator.
