This document describes the requirements that a PDF must comply with to follow the GWG2015 packaging specification.
The GWG2015 packaging specification is a specification built upon current ISO PDF/X standards (PDF/X-4) but adds a number of specific requirements for different market
segments. Each set of requirements that are specific to a market segment is called a “Variant”.
The GWG2015 packaging specification allows for some deviations from the PDF/X-4 standard in order to better meet the unique requirements in packaging printing that cannot be met through strict adherence to the standard. These deviations are clearly marked in the titles within this document with [PDF/X Exception].
