The Faculty of Technical Sciences originates from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering which was established by the Decree of the National Assembly of People’s Republic of Serbia on 18th May 1960 as a Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Novi Sad and it was a constituent part of the University of Belgrade.
After the founding of the University of Novi Sad on 28th June 1960, the Faculty along with six previously established faculties in Vojvodina was regarded as a part of the University of Novi Sad. Since then, to date, studies have also been launched in the field: Electrical and Civil Engineering (1971), Traffic Engineering (1979), Industrial Engineering and Management (1999), Graphic Engineering and Design (1999), Environmental Engineering (1999), Postal Services and Telecommunications (1999), Mechatronics (2002), Geodesy and Geomatics (2007), Safety at Work at the Department of Environmental Engineering (2009), Risk and Fire Protection Management (2011), Animation in Engineering (2011).
Graphic Engineering and Design studies are unique in Serbia since they include interdisciplinary study courses in the field of graphic engineering and design, but also some of the basic sciences such as computer sciences, electronics, electrical engineering, communications, management and economy. Graphic technology is studied in technical, technological, aesthetic and economic sense through the subjects focused on technologies of reproduction and printing, design of all kinds of graphic products, production of multimedia content (images, graphics, animations, video and audio sequences), packaging production etc.
The Department’s staff consists of highly qualified personnel with extensive experience and the formidable scientific results. Lectures and exercises are interactive and take place in modern classrooms at the Faculty and the Graphic Center, which is organized as a special organizational unit within the Department of Graphic Engineering. It is equipped with new, modern machines and devices used for educational purposes and research.
